Digital solutions enable new forms of innovation rather than simply enhancing older methods; examples include the ever-increasing use of artificial intelligence, machine learning and Internet of Things with all the risks and opportunities these entail. Our work on the digital transition involves conference reporting, Dutch to English and English to Dutch translations and English grammar and spelling checks, including interviewing Eindhoven Artificial Intelligence Systems Institute's Nathan van de Wouw on AI for engineering (Great opportunities lie in the synergy between high-tech systems and AI | High Tech Systems Center), profiling ECSEL JU projects on AI, edge computing and IoT (Efficiency, connectivity, trustability: three projects in the spotlight | Inside) and summarising a project on AI to make healthcare more effective (IMPACT: Intelligence based iMprovement of Personalised treatment And Clinical workflow supporT | ITEA).
